About VOD

VOD was created on Jan. 16, 2003 by the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR) as a local independent media outlet to produce radio programs and disseminate information to the public.

VOD is now run by Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM), which was registered with the Interior Ministry in June 2007 to take over the management of VOD.

Since 2007, VOD has expanded its operations to produce news and video for digital platforms as well as radio.

VOD has played a key role in helping CCIM fulfill its mission to promote democratic governance, human rights, the development of all economic sectors, and an independent and sustainable environment for media.

Located at #14A, St. 392, Boeng Keng Kang I, Chamkar Mon, Phnom Penh, VOD’s newsroom and broadcasting studio are equipped with modern technologies and set up for professional work. VOD’s staff members are experienced in producing radio news items, features, interviews and investigations.

The website vodhotnews.com was created in 2011 to publish all kinds of news: local, international, entertainment, sports, economic, science and more. In 2018, the website was revamped to highlight multimedia, and now offers both articles and video on the same site.
